Honors and Advanced Placement

Prospect High School is committed to every student's success and making all courses accessible to our students. We believe access to rigorous course work such as Advanced Placement (AP) plays an important role in that success.

Teachers shall make every effort to create assignments that require no more than 60 minutes to complete per class. Teachers with classes that meet daily shall make every effort to create assignments that require no more than three hours to complete per week. These limits do not include preparation for assessments. Students enrolled in Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, or honors courses, may be assigned homework amounts that exceed these time limits. Students are strongly encouraged to reach out to their teachers if their homework load consistently exceeds these limits.
