Honors and Advanced Placement
Academic Rigor & Homework Policy
Prospect High School is committed to every student's success and making all courses accessible to our students. We believe access to rigorous coursework, such as Advanced Placement (AP), plays an important role in that success.
Teachers make every effort to create assignments that require no more than 60 minutes to complete per class. For classes that meet daily, teachers strive to limit assignments to three hours per week, excluding assessment preparation.
Note for Advanced Courses: Students enrolled in Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), or honors courses may be assigned homework amounts that exceed these standard time limits.
Students are strongly encouraged to reach out to their teachers if their homework load consistently exceeds these limits.
