Sophomores (10th Grade)

The Wellness Center partnered with the school counselors to conduct the last set of 10th Grade presentations on May 2/3! Students learned about healthy relationships, boundaries, and consent. The powerpoint was developed by CASSY Counseling Services and presentation was co-led by Social Worker Kevin Nguyen and CASSY Counselor Amanda Eddy.
With your first year of high school under your belt, now is the time to start thinking about what you plan to do in just a few years when you will graduate.  Unsure of your skills or interests?  Consider which classes you are most engaged in, or have the best grades.  You will also take the personality survey on Naviance Family Connection this year that will find best matched jobs and careers to your personality.

In addition to keeping up your grades and getting involved in extracurricular activities (athletics, community service, clubs), you should begin exploring prospective colleges.  Visit local colleges to begin to get a feel for what college life will be like.  If you have the time, plan to visit a variety of schools - large/small, public/private, rural/suburban.

Are you taking challenging courses?  Consider taking an honors or AP class.  Your School Counselor can help you choose courses and plan a schedule.  Colleges will not only consider your GPA, but the amount of effort required for that class.
