1. What is a Wellness Outreach Worker?
   The Wellness Outreach Worker is a student leader who promotes mental, emotional, and physical well-being among their peers. In this role, you will offer peer support, organize wellness events, raise awareness about mental health, and provide resources for students seeking help--while collaborating with students, staff, and community organizations to create a positive, supportive campus community.
   
   
2. Who can apply for this position?
   We are primarily looking for current Sophomores to apply. However, this position is open to any student that will be enrolled at Prospect for the 2026-2027 school year. If you are passionate about wellness, building community, and helping others, we encourage you to apply!

3. Do I need previous experience to apply?
   No, previous experience is not required. However, having an interest in mental health, wellness, or community advocacy is beneficial. We are looking for students with all backgrounds and experience levels–who are compassionate, approachable, and willing to learn and grow in the role.
   
   
4. What are the main responsibilities of a Wellness Outreach Worker?
   Your responsibilities may include any/all of the following:
   • Promoting healthy habits, behaviors, and wellness information to students
   • Planning, organizing, and facilitating wellness-related activities and events
   • Attending and welcoming peers to engage in events
   • Leading and implementing a Community Change Project*
   • Defining and rolling out our social media campaign
   • Taking pictures and documenting Wellness events
   • Helping students find resources like counseling or wellness support services
   • Collecting and reporting feedback from students to help improve wellness programs
   • Serving as role model and liaison between various campus groups
     [ASB Leadership, Student Senate, clubs, etc.]
   • Mentoring future cohorts of Wellness Outreach Workers
     
     
5. How much time will this position require?
   Please note that if selected, this is a two-year commitment [August 2026 - June 2028].
   We will have a standing bi-weekly meeting on Wednesdays.
   
   The time commitment will vary depending on the events or activities you are involved in, but expect the position to take up a few hours per week. We understand students may be involved in various clubs or sports, and we encourage you to be mindful in balancing your commitments.

   The ideal Wellness Outreach Workers are:

   • Strong communicators and good listeners.
   • Organized and able to plan and lead group activities.
   • Passionate about promoting mental health, wellness, and healthy habits.
   • Respectful of confidentiality and ethical conduct when supporting peers.

   Serving as a Wellness Outreach Worker demonstrates leadership, a commitment to student well-being, and an interest in collaboration. Your time can count toward community service hours too!
   
   If you are interested in fields like psychology, social work, education, or public health, this is an opportunity to gain valuable experience for future college applications, internships, and job opportunities. And upon demonstrating enthusiasm and commitment to the program, we can offer letters of recommendation you may submit for jobs or college applications!
