Announcements:

Reminder:  We encourage students to bring their own lunch or purchase lunch from the cafeteria.  Dropping lunches off for a student is highly discouraged unless it is an emergency.  And food deliveries are prohibited and will be turned away at the office. Thank you!

Teen/Citizen Academy: The Sheriff’s Office Community Academy is intended to provide the students an overview of the Sheriff’s Office functions and procedures. It’s a 12-week program, beginning September 14th and ending on December 7th. Classes will be held on Thursday evenings from 5:45 – 9:00 PM and majority of the classes will be held at Monta Vista High School. You may pick up an application from the main office and deadline to turn the application will be September 3rd.

Picture make-up day: Photo make ups will be on Tuesday, September 5th from 9am-12pm in the cafeteria.  Students who missed registration will receive a pass to take their ID photo at that time.

Attention:  All girls interested in playing field hockey, please stop by the Athletic Director's office or come to the back field at 3pm any day this week.

Attention Students: Just a reminder: Breakfast will be offered only during break time in the cafeteria. 

Freshmen! Interested in running for ASB? Want to be a part of your class level leadership?  Come to a meeting at lunch on Wednesday, 8/16 in room 30 for applications and information.

Do you need a hall locker? Please return your parent permission form to the Student Service Center at break or lunch. You may request a longer locker if you have skate board or athletic equipment to store. PE locks and lockers will be distributed in PE classes during the first week of school.

An Athletic Participation Card, including a physical exam, must be on file for all athletes before a student begins practice.

Attention Freshmen: Student will attend 9th grade advisory during study hall every Monday starting August 21st continuing August 28th, September 11th, September 18th, September 25th and October 2nd.

PTSA is offering a Study Skills course on Thursdays – Sept 14, 21, 28, & Oct. 5th at PHS - 7 - 8:30pm

It's Back and It's a Hit!

August Flea Market

Get in the SWIM, it's endless summer @ the Flea Market @ Prospect.  Catch the BIG ONE Sat. August 26th, 6:00am - 2:00pm, 18900 Prospect Rd. @ Lawrence Expwy, Saratoga. A great place to sell those "out-growns" or shop for back-to-school.  FREE admission & parking. To reserve space call (408) 673-7292.  Proceeds benefit PHS athletic programs.

E-Waste collection

Saturday September 23rd, 9 am to 2 pm.  Same Saturday as the flea market.  They will take monitors, computers, pc boards, scrap metal, computer mice, keyboards, printers, toner and ink cartridges, stereos, DVD, CD players, laptops, cell phones, TVs, wire.  Proceeds benefit all sports at Prospect.

This year the Prospect PTSA like to start the Teacher mini-grant process early to maximize

the usage for you in the school year.

Also new this year is that you can fill out the application and submit it via email right from our

Prospect PTSA web-site.

Deadline to submit the mini-grant request is September 1st.
