We recognize that our students may feel additional stress and anxiety during this period of uncertainty. Below, you'll find information with General Resources within Santa Clara County as well as High School Support staff that can assist you and/or your student.

Student Services
The Student Service Center's goal is to support all students holistically - physically, academically, socially, and emotionally. Therefore, you can find the offices of three Assistant Principals, Guidance Counselors, Guidance Clerk/Registrar, Health Clerk, District Nurse, and UpLift and CASSY counselors.   • UpLift Counseling Services - If you would like to make an appointment to speak with an UpLift Counselor, please contact your Guidance Counselor.
  • CASSY Counseling - Ms. Hylbert is available for counseling services.  For any students in need of on-going support, please contact your Guidance Counselor.

Special Education
Prospect High School ensures that all students with exceptional needs are provided a free and appropriate public education and related services in the least restrictive environment. CUHSD, and by extension Prospect,  coordinates with school districts within the Special Education Local Planning Area (SELPA) and the Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE) to provide a continuum of services for students with special needs who are of high school age.  Please visit the webpage to get in contact with your student's case manager.

    • All driver’s licenses MAY now be renewed online. Your notice may tell you to come into an office but due to special circumstances related to COVID-19, try online first.
    • Behind-the-wheel driving tests – both commercial and non-commercial drivers will be suspended beginning December 14 through at least January 11, 2021. Those with appointments will be notified of the cancellations. Appointments will be rescheduled at a later date. Motorcycle driving tests have not been canceled.

    • Available if you lost your job or had your hours reduced
    • Provides cash payments based on past earnings
    • Maximum of 59 weeks of benefits while the federal CARES Act is in effect

Stimulus
    • Updated January 2021: Eligible individuals will automatically receive an Economic Impact Payment of up to $600 for individuals or $1,200 for married couples and up to $600 for each qualifying child. 
    • Most people who have an adjusted gross income for 2019 of up to $75,000 for individuals and up to $150,000 for married couples filing joint returns and surviving spouses, will receive the full amount of the second payment. For filers with income above those amounts, the payment amount is reduced.

    • Utilities: During this difficult time, some utility companies will not disconnect service due to missed payments, and some offer flexible payment plans. Policies depend on the service company, so please contact your home’s provider. You can lookup your garbage, recycling, and water providers using your address in the City of San Jose's lookup tool.     • We are offering internet access for qualifying limited income households at $10 a month or less through our Access from AT&T program. Through June 30, 2021, AT&T will continue waiving data overages for these customers, as well as keep the expanded eligibility of Access from AT&T to qualifying households and those participating in the National School Lunch Program and Head Start.
