Our Hall of Fame continues with our first community nominated individual, team, and coach inductions!  We are thrilled to be building this tradition and look forward to our upcoming Hall of Fame Gala on May 04, 2024!

Purpose
 
 
In order to preserve the heritage and tradition of athletic excellence at Prospect High School the “Prospect Athletic Hall of Fame” has been created to honor the very best in the history of Panther athletics. This special honor will recognize members of the Prospect family who distinguished themselves as outstanding contributors to athletics at Prospect High School, and possibly beyond. They have demonstrated an ongoing commitment to, and the promotion of, athletic excellence, character values and good sportsmanship.
 
 
Nomination Process Criteria
 
 
The Prospect Athletic Hall of Fame nominees will be considered primarily on their achievements as high school student athletes and coaches. Character values, during and after their high school years, will be a major consideration. The Athletic Hall of Fame selection committee, comprised of community members, will be charged with reviewing and selecting nominees, as well as selecting Teams and Friends of Prospect Athletics inductees.
 
 
STUDENT ATHLETES
 
  • Nominees must be a graduate of Prospect High School.
  • The candidate shall be eligible to be nominated no earlier than seven (7) years after graduation.
  • The candidate must have been a varsity team member of the sport for which he or she is being nominated.
  • The candidate must have made a positive impact on the team(s) for which they played including measurable athletic achievement. (See “suggested benchmarks for consideration” below.)
  • The candidate must have conducted themselves in such a way to reflect honor to the school and must have exhibited those qualities of character and standards of conduct during and after high school.
  • Nominees may be considered posthumously.
  • Prospect High School reserves the right to remove any individual from the Hall of Fame for personal conduct which reflects dishonorably upon the school.
 
Suggested Benchmarks for Consideration:
  1. Championships – team and/or individual
  2. All conference, state, American
  3. League MVP/MOP and awards
  4. Playing Stats
  5. Multiple sports and awards
  6. How the student athlete impacted our community, school, and teammates
 
COACHES
 
  • The candidate shall be eligible to be nominated no earlier than five (5) years after their exit from the sport or after their 10th year of coaching.
  • The candidate must have made a positive impact on the team(s) for which he or she coached including measurable athletic achievement. (See “suggested benchmarks for consideration” below.)
  • The candidate must have conducted themselves in such a way as to reflect honor to the school and must have exhibited those qualities of character and standards of conduct.
  • Nominees may be considered posthumously. 
  • Prospect High School reserves the right to remove any individual from the Hall of Fame for personal conduct which reflects dishonorably upon the school.
 
Suggested Benchmarks for Consideration:
  1. Minimum of five (5) years of service to the athletic program
  2. Record
  3. Conference, Section, State Titles
  4. How the coach impacted our community, school and student athletes
 
TEAM & FRIENDS OF PROSPECT HIGH SCHOOL
 
 
On an annual basis, the selection committee will nominate and select one (1) or fewer Team and Friend of Prospect Athletics.
 
 
Completing the Nomination Form
 
 
Completed nomination forms, and supporting materials, must be received on or before December 1 to be considered for the induction year. Please attempt to attach copies of newspaper clippings, videos, certificates, statistics, letter of recommendations, etc. to substantiate the candidate’s accomplishments. Only copies of original items should be submitted as items will not be returned.

Selection Process
 
 
  • Nominations may be submitted by anyone.
  • Nominations are due no later than December 1.
  • Nominees will be considered and voted upon by the selection committee.
  • Nominees not selected for induction into the current year’s Hall of Fame induction class will stay eligible for consideration the following 2 years. After the consideration period, Prospect Athletes may be re-nominated at any time
 
 
Selection Committee
 
 
The selection committee will be comprised of approximately 8-10 individuals. Those members will be chosen using the following criteria:
  • Prospect High School Athletic Directors – past and present
  • Former student athletes/players
  • Community/Alumni knowledgeable of local sports
  • Former and/or current school coaches and employees
 
The selection committee will also be responsible for the nominating and selecting the inductee for the Teams and Friends of Prospect Athletics. The following criteria will be used:
  • For Teams who have made a substantial contribution – Conference, Section, State Titles and/or record, awards and stats
  • For Friends/individuals who have made a substantial contribution to Athletics
 
 
Induction Process
 
 
An annual induction ceremony to honor the inductees will be held during the Spring at the Panther Paws Sports Gala each year. 
 
The purpose is two-fold; honor the very best in the history of Prospect Athletics and to promote athletic excellence, character values and good sportsmanship into the future. 
 
Prospect's Athletic Community
 
 
Prospect High School has a robust Athletic program that not only provides a space for athletics, but builds a community of athletes that are forever a part of Prospect.  From Thanksgiving break Boys Soccer Alumni games to Alumni returning to coach at Prospect, once a Panther, forever a Panther.
