Class Selection

The educational philosophy of Prospect High School is respect for the individuality of each student. Our mission is to prepare students to succeed on whatever path they ultimately choose.

Class Selection 2024-25: Important Dates

January 17 & 18	All Day	9th Grade Programming Course Request Form	English Classes Counselor Presentation	Students will meet with their designated Counselor to begin their course selection process. Course requests are due February 11th by midnight.
January 18	6:00 - 7:00pm	Parent Class Selection Information Night via Zoom Recording: English / Spanish	Presentation (PPT): English / Spanish	Information on Graduation and College Entry Requirements as well as course offerings at Prospect. Parents will learn how to support their student through the course selection process. Counselors and Admin will be available for a Q&A at the end.
January 19 & 22	All Day	10th Grade Programming Course Request Form	English Classes Counselor Presentation	Students will meet with their designated Counselor to begin their course selection process. Course requests are due February 11th by midnight.
January 22	6:00 - 7:30pm	Future Panther Night!	Student Union	Parents and students are invited to campus to learn about Prospect, take a tour, and learn how to get involved!
January 23 & 24	All Day	Newcomer ELD Programming	ELD 1-2 Classes	Newcomer students in our ELD Program will be meeting with Ms. Yu to discuss course options for next year. Course requests are due February 11th by midnight.
January 25 & 26	All Day	11th Grade Programming Course Request Form	English Classes Counselor Presentation	Students will meet with their designated Counselor to begin their course selection process. Course requests are due February 11th by midnight.
January 25	6:00 - 7:00pm	Advanced Placement (AP) & Advanced Info Night AP Course Expectations 24-25	Presentation (PPT)	Parents and students are invited to campus to learn more about AP classes offered at Prospect Student panel and break out sessions will be hosted to meet the teacher and discuss content, workload, and more. Current PHS students only.
January 29 - February 9	Study Hall	Elective (Videos) & AP Info Sessions	Study Hall Schedule	Info sessions held by teachers to learn more about elective offerings and AP classes.
February 1	10:30 - 11:30am	Incoming 9th Grade Programming Course Selection Form	Latimer School Presentation (PPT)	Counselors will head to the Middle School to discuss course selection process. Course requests are due February 11th by midnight.
February 5	All Day	Incoming 9th Grade Programming Course Selection Form	Easterbrook Discovery School & Discovery Charter Presentation (PPT)	Counselors will head to the Middle School to discuss course selection process. Course requests are due February 11th by midnight.
February 6	All Day	Incoming 9th Grade Programming Course Selection Form	Moreland Middle School Presentation (PPT)	Counselors will head to the Middle School to discuss course selection process. Course requests are due February 11th by midnight.
